Collection & Aftercare
Collection PAINTED POTTERY - Your pottery will be left to dry and glazed the following day. After glazing we let it dry and it later goes in the kiln for 24 hours.  It heats slowly, then cools slowly making it all shiny and bright. We will not ring or text you to let you know it’s ready. Please collect in 7 days unless we tell you otherwise.  We take your number in case it is ready sooner and we will send you a text to let you know your pottery is ready to take home or if you have taken too long to collect. You have 3 months to collect your pottery. You do not have to pre-arrange collecting your pieces, just walk in anytime during our opening hours. We are very sorry but we do not mail. You or someone on your behalf must collect in person. If you live far away and need to create something to take home on the day, you can Foam Clay or Build a Teddy. These are also really fun to do for children as well as adults! STONEWARE - Anything created at the pottery wheel or clay courses. It takes some time for it to dry or it will explode in the kiln then it requires 2 firings. A bisque firing takes 3 days and the glaze firing also takes 3 days. Add the drying time and it can take 3 - 6 weeks. Pottery Painting Aftercare Earthenware! All the pottery on our shelves is food safe and functional. The same as all the pottery you buy in the shops created with earthenware clay, we highly recommend that they are hand washed.   You have created something special and unique.  It is best not to place them in a dishwasher or microwave, so they can last for many years to come. Stoneware! When creating your own pottery either by handbuilding in clay or pottery wheel you will be using stoneware, it is perfectly safe to place these pieces in a dishwasher, microwave, outdoors, etc.
